You will find Erofili Hotel in a central location in the Portaria settlement of Pelion, built on a slope, overlooking the rural landscape that unfolds beneath it. Being very close to the main square of Portaria Square means guests have easy access to the most vibrant and picturesque part of Portaria, by foot.
Portaria Village is one of the most iconic settlements in Pelion. Quaint and charming, it delights its visitors with its traditional mountain village character. Plane trees, stone water springs, cobblestone streets, local tavernas and colourful ‘kafeneions’ (coffee shops) paint a picture that is entirely authentic. Portaria is exceptionally rustic and so it is mostly suited to those who wish to see a genuine place and witness the local ways first hand, surrounded by nature.
Portaria is just 15 kms from the city of Volos, taking the road to the ski resort of ‘Chania’, Pelion.
Our hotel is right at the crossroad to the traditional village of Makrinitsa that is only 2 km from Portaria and Erofili Hotel.
Visiting Makrinitsa makes for a lovely close-by excursion with its beautiful old square and traditional streets, situated on a beautiful hillside overlooking the city of Volos.
Getting here from Athens:
Once on the ‘Athens – Thessaloniki’ highway, take the exit to Volos, then drive another 15km to the intersection of Volos - Portaria. 10 km further, you will have reached your destination.
